The Youngster from MaineHey everyone, happy new year!
My name is Meghan and I am a 20 years old (just 5 weeks from being 21!) college student from a little city in Southern Maine. I'm currently unemployed, riding the last few months before I graduate, get a job, and enter the grown up world.
I've never been thin, but I've lost weight before, many times in fact, with every diet under the sun. In highschool I used Herbalife for a whole summer and dropped some pounds, but felt foolish taking herbal supplements while everyone else was eating pizza. I also spent another summer in highschool doing a strict low-carb diet, but then bread found me. Last winter I tried weight watchers for the first time and lost about 25 pounds before falling face first into a slow-cooker of Swedish meatballs. So, I'm not new to this and I'm really good at losing about 30 pounds before I throw up my arms and eat some cheese. I'm determined to make this time different.
This past October a group of guys walked by me on the street and yelled out "Big girls need love too!" and I was mortified. That, among other things, kick started my recent hoorah. I've lost a little under 30 pounds in the past 9 weeks and I'm feeling strong and confident. I work out religiously and am eating what I love but in a better way. I write down everything that passes my lips and I'm finding it comforting and helpful.
I'm so thrilled to have found this challenge and to be a part of it! My challenge for this month is to drink 64 oz of water a day (or 8, 8oz. glasses). I'm usually pretty good about things when a challenge is set in front of me so I'm pumped to get this party started. My blog is abetteryear.blogspot.com and I love comments! Come on over!
Good luck to everyone!
